It has been a very busy first week for Sam and Noah at CCCE. They have spent time getting to know the children and staff. Sam and Noah have also accomplished many tasks this week. The most important news is that a Nanny Nurse has been hired to help care for the toddlers and to help with the health needs of all the children. Her name is Sister (for nurse) Hannah. She is a degreed clinical nurse. She started Thursday and has already set up the toddler room and started teaching the toddlers the importance of good hygiene (aka – taking baths or showers and wearing clean clothes!).
Sam and Noah have begun English lessons with the children and have been helping with homework to evaluate the academic progress of the children. They also have taught the children an “animal imitation” game. Noah reports that this is very funny to play with the children and has been a great bonding exercise.
Sam and Noah continue the tradition of Friday movie night (started by Allie). They watched Finding Nemo last week which was enjoyed by all.
I spoke with Sam and Noah this morning. They sound great – very happy and enthusiastic. They are very impressed with the children and staff of CCCE. Everyone has been very helpful and welcoming. They are inspired by the church service the children have every night.
Sam and Noah inspire me and I think Aerie Africa and CCCE are blessed to have Sam and Noah working for us.
