Tomorrow, Ethiopia celebrates Christmas. Today, the celebrations at CCCE began with the dedication of the well and a Christmas Eve party. The local faranji (American and European foreigners are called faranji in Ethiopia) were invited to join our children, staff, Allie, Noah, and Sam. CCCE had visitors from the US, Norway, and South Africa. These faranji are doctors and their families who work at Soddo Christian Hospital. Visit http://www.soddo.org to learn about the wonderful work these doctors are accomplishing.
The festivities began with the dedication of the well.
The celebration continued with the distribution of the gift bags from St. Peter’s. The children loved their gifts and were excited to receive such wonderful presents. The festivities concluded with a picnic and a traditional goat roast.
